And here’s a Halloween trick or two!

I set my browser home page to Google and use it countless times a day. { What on earth did we do before we were able to Google? } From Lifehacker, click here for a few great tricks for getting better search results with Google. I culled the ones below from readers' comments — so scroll way down the page and read it all.

For product review, type in "______ sucks"

Do any conversion, by simply typing in "_______ to ______": "half a cup to ounces" or "10 CAD to USD" or ".

For local movie theatres and times, type in name of movie and zip code: "Saw V 30319"

 Math? Just type in your problem: "78 x 6", "1/6 of 8,800", "240,000 / 45"

To obtain a definition, type in "define ______"

To search for your word and its synonyms, type a "~" before the word: "~ corn ~casseroles"

For the exact time anywhere in the world, type in "time _____":  "time Hong Kong" or "time Hawaii"

For a number range, just type ".." between numbers: "graphic design 1960..1966" or "Milton Glaser 1950..1955"

Need info on a flight, need to track a FedEx package, want the address that corresponds to a phone number? Just type it in: "Delta 154", "1Z45J89077890LTZ", "4048435555"

Here's a handy search cheat sheet by Google to remind you of their tips. And, be sure to try out Google's advanced search for really tight searching. Have fun searching!

Written beautifully

UK design firm Why Not Associates designed these spectacular typographic carved tree columns as art and architectural supports for a public library. Art, architecture, paradox. So handsome.
